I Believe . . .

I Believe that the world is not a place for me.

I Believe in the afterlife.

I Believe that god has it all planned out.

I Believe everything is related.

I Believe that the world is constantly changing.

I Believe in another world.

I Believe that because you were born alone you will die alone.

I Believe that I will find my way through life.

I Believe in rebirth.

I Believe in Angels.

I Believe that there is communication with the dead.

I Believe in what I want to believe in.

I don't believe, but I know that one day we will all die

Memories

Although this trip was a while back ... but i still hold many memories from it.
In 2006 as grade 10s went to Koh Samet during camp week. Stayed at Jep's Bungalow. It was different from all the other camps I have been t.o.o.o.o. I think we had fun. On some night we watched fire shows and on other days we just had fun on the beach. One of the days even we went out on a boat to "Koh Tapuu" on a snorkeling trip, but almost couldn't come back, because the boat got stuck on rock and the tide went down. I miss it and want to relate old memories and experiences to my art work as well

Jason Tamthai

Jason was born in 1976 in Bangkok, Thailand. He is fluent in two languages and has rich multicultural background. He studied art and oil painting in the US, and also traveled for 8 years. In 2002 Jason returned to Thailand to paint full time and now resides in Chiang Mai.

Jason's work exemplifies his mix background as well as his moderate and minimalist philosophy. In abstract form, he combines deep tones of Baroque art with flowing lines and expressive brush marks typical of Asian paintings. The effects are elegant patterns of oils and solvents interviewing to create images of Thai quilts, ancient scrolls or surfaces of weathered trees and rocks. Being partly from Chiang Mai Jason draws much of his inspiration from nature and the geography of northern Thailand. His work strongly emphasizes the balance and partnership between man and nature, and conveys a sense of absolute peace and calmness that he intends for himself and his audience.

Art works by Morrakot Naksin

Morrakot Naksin was one of the artists who's work really caught my attention at the La Luna Gallery.

Jansen Chow

Jansen Chow was born in Kuantan, Malaysia in 1970. He graduated from Kuala Lumpur College of Art in 1992 and has been a full time artist ever since. Jansen has pushed the watercolour medium to uncharted waters with several signature techniques like the stardust highlights, the sequin effect and a mock photo graphic solarisation in free frame stills. " The preparations are more important than the size", he says, " because even a small mistake can spoil it. The work has to be well thought out in terms of subject and execution with the larger watercolour paper primed with gesso for layering as well as to make it thicker as if done by acrylic."

Art trip to La Luna Gallery

Last Friday.. the grade 12's went to visit "La luna Gallery". The art works were very impressive and interesting. There is a wide range of topics and themes that I haven't seen before. Many of the artists are from Thailand, but there are also some European, Burmese, vietnamese and many more.

Depression and Art

The normal stresses of life can lead anyone to fell sad every once in a while. Things like an argument with a friend, a breakup, doing poorly on a test, not being chosen for a team, or a best friend moving out of town can lead to feelings of sadness, hurt, disappointment, or grief. These reactions are usually brief and go away with a little time and care

Depression is more than occasionally feeling blue, sad, or down in the dumps. Depression is a strong mood involving sadness, discouragement, despair, or hopelessness that lasts for weeks, months, or even longer. It interferes with a person's ability to participate in normal activities.

Depression affects a person's thoughts, outlook and behavior as well as mood. In addition to a depressed mood, a person with depression can also feel tired, irritable, and notice changes in appetite.
